Well today was the worst performance that I have had at a match in a long time. Lots of lessons learned. Lots of things to work on. Some bright spots in the whole thing, as well as some definite learning moments. Full break down once the match concludes. Running with a great squad of very funny guys, and some really good shooters so still having an excellent time. Back at it again in the morning. Stages 10, 1, 2 and 3 are complete for me. Slugs and long range rifle work behind me (I think). Fun stages on the schedule tomorrow. It will be awesome.
On the road to 2015 X-Treme Bullets Texas 3 Gun Championship. I love to get on the road, and get to these major events but it is quite a haul to get to the Hill Country of Texas. I am fortunate that for many years, the paying job has been one that has required significant travel. I have gotten very good at working from odd locations, and at odd hours to accommodate the demands on my time. Still conducting multiple concalls while traveling down the interstate is always interesting.
I am looking forward to the event. I will be running the new DMR mount from Samson on my rifle for this event as part of my evaluation of the device. So far I am pleased with it and I will have a detailed review for you in the next week or two.
I should have a chance to walk the stages this afternoon, and in the morning. Squad 20 starts on Stage 10, in the afternoon on Friday so if you are at the match and see me running around stop me and say “Hi”.
